After Thanksgiving feast, everyone usually has to eat the same kind of left over for a couple days! For the first couple meals were still good, but it really gets boring later. So I’m showing an alternative recipe for leftover ham.
{之如何處理剩菜剩飯篇}
Do you remember the big pot of ham we had yesterday for Thanksgiving? I have cut out most of the ham and store them in a ziplock bag in the freezer for other recipes.
Then…. I use the bone and some ham for soup cooking.
Ham is already seasoned, so you don’t need to add salt to the soup. Just a pinch of black pepper before serving is sufficient!
You can cook this in a pot on the stove, in a slow cooker, or an electric pressure cooker like an Instant Pot.
This soup it’s super easy to make, yummy, healthy, and budget friendly. You can just find anything from you fridge or pantry to put it in the soup.
I usually use a big pot to add water and the bone and ham in. Then add anything you like.
Suggestions for veggies: cabbages, onions, carrots, mushrooms, celery, bell peppers… etc.
You can also use cooker beans from cans. Like black beans, black eyes beans, Kidney beans… etc. just remember to wash it and drain the excess water. Then add into the pot of soup and cook. If you don’t like beans, then don’t add it!
If you cook the soup on the stove, turn the heat on high and cook till boiling. Then turn the heat down to low for another 15 to 30 minutes depends how long how well cooked vegetables you like. If you are using a slow cooker, just throw everything into the slow cooker and let it cook in low heat for four hours. If you are using a electric pressure cooker, just select the soup mode and let it do the magic by itself.
Bon Appetit !
